Been outside lately? If you have, I’m sure you’ve found what I have. The dog days of summer are here. Ever wondered what that means? It is when the days of summer are so sultry hot outside, that exhausted dogs just lay around due to the lack of energy. Many of you have come in from the heat and found Sarge asleep on his bed or in the middle of the floor, and you can’t help but comment on the life he lives. Yes Sarge is a good dog, and does have a wonderful life, but I can’t help but think, the dog days of summer are truly here. But, that doesn’t mean we all get to, or can lay around like Sarge. There is plenty going on.
With the perfect timing of rain we’ve had this year, plenty of hay has been cut and baled. Your Eagle Hardware has been diligent to insure an ample supply of this summer’s square and round bales. We have worked closely with our local growers to offer only the finest and highest protein content coastal hay grown in our area. Stop by for a look. I am sure you will agree!
And when you do stop by, I’m sure you’ll wonder what we’re doing to our building. Though we fully intend to grow the footprint of our building, two other projects are underway. The 20+ year old air conditioning unit is about to get some help. We’ve decided to increase the air conditioning capacity to 10 tons and hopefully make your shopping experience a little cooler when stepping in out of the heat. Then, there’s the new awnings. We are excited to have the chance to change up the front of the store, add some signage, better lighting in the evening and covered entrances. Soon you will see two covered entrances that will greet you as you enter the building and allow us to enhance your experience at Eagle Hardware.
As the summer drags on and your need to start dragging watering hoses around becomes a necessity, don’t forget Eagle Hardware if your hose comes up short. We have everything you need to repair or replace your hose today.
And finally, I am excited to tell you about the planning we are in the midst of this summer. You will want to be sure to mark this down and not dare miss it. This fall, Eagle Hardware is hosting its first Annual Wildlife Expo on September 12 from 5-8pm. With the popularity of hunting and fishing in our area, coupled with the full line of wildlife feeds we offer, we’ve decided to do something for you our customer. We’ll have a fish truck on site, food, vendors, prized and giveaways. Stay tuned for more details.
